The Past is a Reference

The past always has a way of being the ultimate nuisance for a writer.

For many, many years the past and I had a horrid relationship. I blamed it for every problem I had especially the issues with my career. I spent so much time trying to suppress my past, not realizing it would be the very thing that propelled me to greatness.

We all have had our issues with our pasts. Sometimes the problems of the past are almost non-existent. Other times past problems are debilitating.

Is the past keeping you from realizing your true greatness as a writer? Could the stories of your past assist in your healing? What about your past is hindering you?
